Two brothers fish together successfully. One is clever, the other quick. The clever brother insists they must sail where the wind leads to find their true destiny. The quick brother wants to stay where they were born. They argue for days but finally agree to leave. At sea, they discover their boat has no clear bow. The looking glass shows only what you bring to it. The winds push them in circles.
They cannot agree on which direction is forward.
Three brothers sail to seek their fortunes. The youngest spares a silver bird, a queen bee, and a white whale. His older brothers show no such mercy. When strong winds blow their boat toward rocky cliffs, they see find tiny people watching from the island above. Their sail tears.
The boat cracks on the rocks.

The farmer is afraid to go outside.
